vol. 1 / March 2026

Welcome to the inaugural edition of The LevelUp Memo!
This monthly newsletter is being delivered exclusively to The LevelUp America community - professionals who take ideas from inception to delivery, own their output in pursuit of outcomes. The community includes high agency builders, operators, and leaders who choose impact over hot air.
The Memo isn’t magic nor motivational fog.
Each issue of The Memo delivers one actionable strategy you can use immediately. These tips tighten strategy, clarify the objective, and turn a high level conversation into a crisp plan of where to focus, what to stop, and how to measure improvement. If you want standards and calmer confidence, you are in the right place - welcome!

The memo behind
The Memo
PERSONAL POWER
Personal Power means the individual owns their standard, their discipline, and their output. Organizational Impact means institutions build operating systems that convert talent into measurable outcomes. American Advantage means we stop wasting human talent and start competing with seriousness.
I started LevelUp America because I was tired of watching talent take the blame for institutional and infrastructure failure. The professional world knows activity without output is empty, and output without outcomes is wasted. That is how real talent stays misaligned with the best education and economic opportunities. Meetings multiply. Programs proliferate. Operating systems do not exist. Mobility stays stuck.
My life has been a tour of environments that punish fantasy. In the NFL, potential is a rumor until it shows up in performance. As a civil rights attorney, broken practices land on real people in real ways. In the innovation economy, incentives either create movement with throughput or motion without progress. In the White House Initiative on HBCUs, I watched policy, capital, and opportunity either align with national priorities or slide into silos and operating defaults that fail to produce results.
That mix left me with one conviction: America does not have a talent shortage. We have a conversion problem. We are not consistently turning ability into skill, skill into productivity, and productivity into resilient ownership.
So yes, we are building a community of good vibes and standards. The LevelUp Community is for high agency doers who bring receipts, tell the truth, make decisions, and do the unglamorous work. This is where talk becomes delivery, and delivery becomes advancement.
I will share tools that keep us anchored to outputs we can own, while pursuing outcomes shaped by forces beyond our control. Expect clear asks, measurable deliverables, and the occasional laugh. Hard work does not have to be grim.
